Meme-scream: “AS ABOVE SO BELOW”…

Yesterday I saw this little ad for the University of Notre Dame, and was quite taken aback. The whole thing is comprised of reflecting-pool “as above / so below” imagery, and I found the accompanying narration rather interesting as well.

The Mind
It processes every image, every voice, every word on the page
Yearning to understand, inspired by faith, it paints a picture of the world
When given the chance to examine things from a different perspective,
To turn conventional thought upside-down
the Mind, soars…

Notre Dame is of course a Catholic university, named after the virgin Mary, or (as I just learned)  the “Lady of the Lake”, in French, “Notre Dame du Lac”.  Perhaps that was part of the inspiration for all the water/lake imagery in the commercial, though I am fascinated to learn that Catholicism apparently has some belief in the “lady of the lake”, since we all recognize that character as the one who “held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water” (Monty Python and the Holy Grail reference there…) in the legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, and, interestingly enough, the entire King Arthur legend features very highly for some reason in the minds of occultists/Masons, etc, apparently containing a great deal of esoteric symbolism/metaphor that I believe much of it still has yet to be explored by outsiders…

as_above_so_belowAnyhow, when I first started looking into things like the “Illuminati” and the New World Order etc. several years ago, the concept of “As Above / So Below” wasn’t exactly a secret, but you still pretty much had to be intentionally researching such things in order to come across it. I suppose that is why lately it has been so astonishing to me to see just how much this phrase and concept has been finding it’s way into mainstream media and consciousness. I suppose this really shouldn’t astonish me at all by now, since in reality the “Externalization of the Hierarchy” logically includes an “externalization” of occult concepts as well. Taking what was once considered “privileged information” for the initiated few and making it commonplace. Just recently, a horror movie came out under the very name “As Above So Below“, which is apparently set in the ancient underground tunnels of Paris, and not only features this occult phrase as it’s title, but also features a picture of the “inverted man” imagery even in the film’s preview, a symbol often connected to both Kabbalah and the infamous “protocols of Zion”.

As-Above-So-BelowAt first glance, I assumed the movie was probably just borrowing the phrase for a name, because it’s “catchy” and probably sounded cool for a movie about demons and monsters hunting people in the Parisian catacombs. But after reading some reviews, it’s quite clear that the movie does in fact promote occult concepts and ideals, as the main protagonists are archeologists searching for the fabled “Philosopher’s Stone” of alchemic lore. As one reviewer states: “In the catacombs is where the major scares happen as the unique enclosed spaces encompasses the user with a sense of dread and almost pity for the explorers. As they delve deeper into the catacombs and come across a ‘secret’ passage they delve even further, much deeper until the point of no return. It is here that the film really takes on a life of its own, adding a unique twist on the vision of hell we all know and love. The only way to escape for the adventurers is to simply push on, as they go further and further they eventually learn that the philosophers stone is not only their only means of survival, but the only way they can escape Hell.”

As-Above-So-Below-4picsFor the Biblically discerning, it can be understood that Alchemy and the “Philosopher’s Stone” are in fact both total occult pursuits at their core, the surface meaning of it being some medieval endeavor to turn base metals into gold serving as merely a metaphor or code-language for the true mission, to achieve immortality via sorcery.  This occult quest, and it’s connection to modern times, is laid out with incredible precision in the amazing documentary by Gonz Shimura titled “Age of Deceit 2: Alchemy and the Rise of the Beast Image” (available for free!), and I highly recommend it.

Anyways, it should come as no surprise that these things are ever-increasingly being injected into the subconscious (and now, the full on Jay-Z-Do-What-Thou-Wilt2conscious) minds of the masses, but it still rattles me when I see things like movies coming out with titles which essentially encapsulate the entire gospel according to Satan. What’s next, a movie called “Do what thou will is the whole of the Law”…?  (Oh wait, Jay-Z has already being wearing hoodies sporting that very saying for years now…)

But that is what is really at the heart of “as above / so below”, as a philosophy, as a mantra. Do what you please, because up is the new down, and down is the new up.  Right is wrong, wrong is right.  Heaven is hell, hell is heaven.  God is the devil, the devil is god.  It’s not just some cliché sounding axiom, but honestly it’s what so many people in the current generation are embracing and living their lives by.  It is the message of the serpent in the Garden.  “You won’t die, your eyes will be opened and you will really live…”  Death is life, life is death.  That makes sense, right?  After all, once your “perspective is reimagined” and “conventional thought is turned upside-down, the mind, soars”….
